Since 2007, the TCG has created a sustainable community garden from barren desert and supported a weekly seasonal farmers market for locally grown or created food products.
Individual plots are used to plant and harvest food for both personal consumption as well as support a community food bank. Operated on land owned by Ivey Enterprises, fund raising activities and volunteers have developed a supporting infrastructure including buildings, rainwater harvesting system, solar power, fencing and shade structures.
The farmers market operates on Saturdays from late fall through early spring.
The Garden's primary fundraiser is an annual one day event called the Terlingua Green Scene Sustainability Festival. The Green Scene combines education, demonstrations, activities, and fun.
