To preserve the pristine nature of the surrounding desert environment, volunteers operate a recycling trailer for aluminum, tin, plastic, and cardboard.

The public can deposit these materials into a customized, dedicated trailer which is transported by volunteers 50 miles to a recycling center located within the adjoining Big Bend National Park.
